This Thursday, the Southeast Working Group will be asked to discuss how the new sewer facilities at the Southeast Plant should be integrated into the community, and their aesthetic look and feel. For more information, visit sfwater.org.

This will be the first of several meetings regarding this topic in the community as the SFPUC continues planning for upgrades to the digesters and other improvements at the Southeast Plant. This meeting will focus on the look and feel of new Plant facilities.

*SEWG meetings will be held on as-needed basis. Regularly scheduled meetings will be held between 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Southeast Community Facility in the Alex Pitcher Room located at 1800 Oakdale unless otherwise noted. Meetings are open to the public.

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) Southeast Working Group (SEWG) was created to provide a public forum to discuss the SFPUC projects and activities in the Southeast. The goal is to work with residents, businesses, community organizations and others to help build a better Southeast community.

Location: 1800 Oakdale Ave, San Francisco – Southeast Community Center, Alex Pitcher Jr. Room

Baines Group and Nibbi Brothers Joint Venture team has been selected as the General Contractor for the Alice Griffith Block 2 & 4 project in San Francisco, CA. We are holding a Meet & Greet for the Bayview/Hunter’s Point Community. Several topics will be discussed including an overview of the project design, how to become LBE/SBE certified, how bid documents will be distributed, bidding process, hiring goals, and employment opportunities.

Confirmed Guest Speakers include:

  • Willie Brown – Former Mayor of San Francisco (1996-2004)
  • Malia Cohen – San Francisco Supervisor, 10th District (Bayview Hunters Point, Potrero Hill, Dogpatch, and Visitacion Valley neighborhoods)

What is the District 10 Financial Empowerment Program?

 

The District 10 Financial Empowerment Program (D10 FEP) provides a network of financial services and products specifically designed to support eligible clients in their efforts to achieve their mid- to long-term financial goals and build the financial capability of low- and moderate-income residents of San Francisco’s District 10.

Where is District 10?

San Francisco Supervisorial District 10 is in the southeastern section of San Francisco and includes the neighborhoods of Potrero Hill, Central Waterfront, Dogpatch, Bayview/Hunters Point, Little Hollywood, India Basin, Silver Terrace, Visitacion Valley, and Candlestick Point. Although not perfectly aligned, District 10 roughly approximates the boundaries of the 94124, 94134, and 94107 zip codes.

 

What is Financial Empowerment?

Financial empowerment is the ability to have more choices in life through an individual’s increased capability to make sound financial decisions. This transformed financial stability can be achieved through financial education, increased credit scores and savings, reduction in debt, better ability to

manage emergencies, and use of appropriate and fiscally responsible products.

 

 

This program is an innovative response to the growing need for financial education, counseling and coaching in our community.

 

 

Program Highlights

  •  Serves one hundred D10 individuals/families over a two-year period
  •  Addresses the opportunities and obstacles to achieving financial goals including:

o   Homeownership

o   Small Business Development/Expansion

o   Increased Credit Scores

o   Lower Debt

o   Increase Savings (Emergency and Goal Specific)

 

Who is Eligible?

Individuals who…

  • Live in the zip codes of 94124, 94134 and 94107 (District 10) or are interested in returning to District 10
  • Have earned income
  • Have long term goals
