Did you know that the Pacific Islander Community is severely under-represented in San Francisco’s Affordable Home Ownership Housing Lotteries?

The Team at SFHDC wants to help change that!

Funded in part by the Mayor’s Office of Housing & Community Development, SFHDC is now offering our HUD-Approved Homebuyer Education workshop on additional dates to specifically serve the Pacific Islander communities!

Completion of HUD Approved FIRST TIME HOME BUYER EDUCATION  is REQUIRED to participate in  Mayor’s Office of Housing Below Market Rate (BMR)  Ownership program and all down payment assistance programs.

In order to receive your certificate, you must complete this 6 hour class AND a 2 hour one-on-one counseling session.

Your first home is one of the most important investments you will make. Learn everything you need to know about buying and owning your own home. Topics include:

  • Understanding Credit
  • Obtaining A Mortgage
  • Shopping for a Home
  • Below Market Rate Program
  • Down Payment Assistance

Parcel E-2 Air Monitoring Fact Sheet

The Navy has prepared an informational fact sheet on the air monitoring underway at HPNS Parcel E-2. To date, independent sampling conducted by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), a regulatory agency overseeing the cleanup at HPNS, has confirmed the effectiveness of the Navy’s dust control measures at HPNS. Dr.dd Kathryn Higley provides support to community members in her role as a Community Technical Advisor for the greater Hunters Point community

Community Technical Advisor Available for Radiological Health and Safety Questions

On Saturday morning, June 10, 2017 and Monday morning, June 12, 2017 several community members met with Dr. Kathryn Higley, a nationally respected expert in radiological health and safety from Oregon State University. These small, informal group discussions made it possible for participants to get more information on radiological health and safety and have their questions answered.

Availability During August Bus Tours

Dr. Higley plans to attend the upcoming bus tours of the Navy’s cleanup sites at HPNS the morning of August 5, 2017. She will be available to answer community member questions before and after each tour, including availability for questions from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Storehouse, which is located just outside of the HPNS main gate (see map below).
