Free Blues Concert With “Lady Guitar”, Pat Wilder


What:
  Mardi Gras San Francisco Style returns to the Fillmore on Tuesday, February 28th. The annual Fat Tuesday celebration opens with a free blues concert at 5 pm in the Fillmore Center Plaza, where Pat (Lady Guitar) Wilder, is followed by a New Orleans style processional, led by The St. Gabriel Brass Band and  SumbaFunk!.  The festivities continue with a masquerade ball fundraiser at the West Bay Conference Center at 8 pm, where The West Coast Blues Society will perform some California style blues. Fat Tuesday in the Fillmore will again bring San Francisco’s historic Fillmore Music District to life with rhythm & blues, a colorful family friendly carnival atmosphere, along with face painting, street artists and performers.

5:00 pm: Free Blues Concert, Fillmore Center Plaza, 1475 Fillmore @ O’Farrell. Performance by: Lady Guitar- Pat Wilder & Band

8:00 pm: Masquerade Ball, Westbay Conference Center, 1290 Fillmore @ Eddy. Performance by: West Coast Blues Society Band

Advance purchase tickets for the Masquerade Ball are available at www.eventbrite.com. Ticket price include admission to the ball, dinner, beads, a wristband for corridor specials and a beverage.


About the Village Project

Adrian Williams is the founder of The Village Project, a youth service organization focusing on education and cultural enrichment for youth and their families in the Western Addition. This annual fundraiser helps support an afterschool program and a free 8 week summer camp for underserved youth. The Village Project also produces Grilling in the ‘MO, A Senior Moment, A Senior Prom for the 50+ and Seven Days of Kwanzaa Celebration, which last year was held in 14 different venues throughout San Francisco.  Ms. Williams is a recipient of the 2016 Jefferson Awards.
