WHAT: Request for Proposal (RFP) – African American Empowerment Collaborative

CONTACT/NOTES: DCYF has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify a nonprofit organization to coordinate the services of up to ten community partners in an African American Empowerment Collaborative (AAEC). The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for overall program outcomes and financial management of the project.The African American Empowerment Collaborative is a community-driven approach to achieving better outcomes for high need, multiple system involved African American youth and families. The initiative will weave together evidence-based practices through a culturally competent collaborative across the following five core areas: workforce, education, family support, health and wellness, and violence prevention. Over the next two years AAEC will build a system of community-level coordination around these core areas that ensures community-driven services for high risk youth ages 14-24 and their families. Registration is required in order to access the RFP documents. DCYF will only use registration information to notify those who have downloaded the RFP documents in the unlikely event that the documents are changed after being issued. Estimated Timeline (Dates may be subject to change) – Request for Proposals Issued: Monday, August 1st. Question Submission Period Ends: Friday, August 5th 5:00pm; Answers to Questions Posted: Tuesday August 9th by 5:00pm; Proposals Due: Monday, August 15th 5:00pm; Award Decision Finalized: Wednesday, August 31st. Please submit proposals electronically to email@example.com by 5:00pm on August 15th. DCYF is committed to providing as much clarity as possible during this RFP process. All questions about the RFP must be submitted in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org by August 5th at 5:00pm. DCYF will collect all questions and post written responses to a designated public area of www.dcyf.org after the question submission deadline. WHO: Taproot Foundation
WHAT: Service Grant Program
WHEN: Deadline September 1, 2016
CONTACT/NOTES: Through its Service Grants program, the Taproot Foundation connects nonprofit organizations with the services of professional consultants on a pro-bono basis. Each service grant has a minimum value of $45,000 and is delivered by a team of five to six business professionals to nonprofit organizations in Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Washington, D.C. To qualify for a grant, applicants must be a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization or a public school and work within one of the foundation’s program areas (i.e., the arts, education, the environment, health, and social services). To be eligible for a grant, organizations also must have at least three full-time employees and an annual budget of at least $350,000. WHO: San Francisco Youth Empowerment Fund
WHAT: School Year Mini-Grants Applications
WHEN: Application deadline September 2nd
NOTES: YEF is opening its School Year grant cycle, offering up to $10,000 in funding for Youth-Led projects in San Francisco. YEF is accepting applications from August 1st until September 2nd, for projects that take place from October-May. Projects must be created and led by youth under 18, have at least one adult ally, be financially sponsored by a community-based non-profit organization and be in San Francisco for San Franciscans. *For a mini-grant application or more information, visit yefsf.org.
