NOTES: In 2004, La Raza Law Student Association, Black Law Student Association, and the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal joined efforts with the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office to diversify the racial, ethnic, and socio-economic make up of the student body at UC Hastings.  Students recognized that energy needed to be directed towards traditionally underrepresented minority youths who did not envision themselves graduating from high school, let alone going to law school. Towards that end, DALS was created to empower underserved K-12 students by exposing these youth to the legal profession. *DALS is entirely free to the students. Students will be separated into age-conscious groups, attend interactive mock law classes (given by actual law school professors), experience a mock trial performed by a UC Hasting trial team, and explore the campus during a guided tour. Legal professionals will discuss the significance of a higher education, and participants will be provided with mentoring sessions with law students. Attendees will be provided with breakfast, lunch, prizes, and tools to aid in academic success.

We all know that knowledge works on constant effort; help build the educational road map for your loved ones and keep with the flow – we would like to invite you to take advantage of this weekends opportunities!
